Sammy in Heaven with Bob

On April 18, 2019, our beloved little dog, Sammy, went to Heaven to be with his daddy, Bob. We don't know the exact date of birth, but if he was born in the spring, then he would have been twenty when he made his transition to a better life on the other side of the rainbow bridge. He had been struggling with diabetes for a few months and slowly became too weak to go for walks, so I had been taking him to the park and to town in a dog stroller. In the last few days of his life (less than a week) he went suddenly totally blind, and barely able to walk at all. The vet and our family said it was time to help him go to Heaven, and I know they were right, but it was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Our vet made the event very peaceful and he felt no pain and passed peacefully with me stroking him.
