Lucky Joins Dog Scouts of America

As Lucky grew, he looked a little less like the movie star dog, Benji, because his legs stayed very short, not at all proportionate to his body, which was long, and had a low-slung belly. However he was intelligent enough to be a movie star. A friend who owned and trained a service dog invited Lucky and me and a few other people and dogs to come to her house and train our dogs together. Eventually we formed a Dog Scouts of America troop, which turned out to be a wonderful experience for dogs and owners.

Early in our training sessions at Dog Scouts, Lucky lifted his leg over the scout leader's shoe, and again on her couch. Thankfully, he progressed from there to be a very well-trained canine.
